Coating Thickness Control Capability. Current mainstream designs utilize precision adjustment mechanisms-such as dial indicators or micrometers-to set the coating gap. These are paired with electric or pneumatic pressure-maintenance systems to prevent gap drift during prolonged operation. The minimum achievable coating thickness typically ranges from a few microns to several tens of microns, depending on the rheological properties of the specific material.

 

Tension Control System. Different substrates-such as ultra-thin aluminum foil, flexible release paper, or highly stretchable plastic films-exhibit vastly different sensitivities to tension. Electronically controlled tension systems are generally more precise than their mechanical counterparts, allowing specific tension values ​​to be set via a touchscreen and maintained in real-time.

 

Modular Expandability. During the R&D phase, the types of materials being processed are often subject to change; for instance, a machine used for hot-melt adhesive coating today might be required for UV-curable coating tomorrow. If the equipment is designed to support the addition of modular components-such as UV curing units, drying ovens, or static elimination devices-there is no need to purchase an entirely new machine to accommodate these changes.

 

Ease of Cleaning. When working with hot-melt adhesives, the removal of residual adhesive is a critical factor that significantly impacts the user experience during practical operation. Designs featuring removable adhesive tanks and coating rollers can drastically reduce the difficulty of the cleaning process as well as the time required to complete it.
